"Katadyn Drip Filter Ceramic/Carbon 1 Gallon Per Hour. Holds 2 1/2 gallons or 10 liters of water. Water container with built-in ceramic-carbon filters. Free-standing gravity filter with 3 ceramic/carbon filters for additional chemical reduction and improvement of taste and a 10 litre water containerfor large quantities of water. Filters without effort. With 3 ceramic/carbon filters for additional chemical reduction and improvement of taste. System filters by gravity requiring no pumping. Filters can be cleaned up to 300 times and can filter up to 26000 of water before needing replacement. Removes Bacteria protozoa and cysts. Also retains the micro-organisms that cause typhoid giardiasis cholera amebiasis bilharzia and cryptosporidiosis. Average pore diameter of only 0.2 micron prevents the smallest bacteria from passing through. Simple brushing regenerates filters. Permanently embedded silver in the ceramic structure of the filter prevents microbial growth. Does not desalinate water. The Gravidyn ceramic/carbon filter will need to be changed more frequently than the standard all-ceramic Ceradyn drip filter because the inner carbon core will not last as long as the outer ceramic shell. However this one does remove chlorine tastes and odors unlike the standard all-ceramic unit. Generally if your water is very clean such as stream or alpine lake water the all-ceramic Ceradyn will last longer and may be a better choice. Katadyn Technology: 0.2 micron ceramic depth filter (cleanable) combined with activated carbon granules. Output 1 gallon or 4 liters per hour (depending on water quality).
