HIP/DIY Sterasyl: Acetal/Polyester In-Line Housing Filter System complete with Installation Kit including 3/8 inch Push-fit connectors. The HIP/DIY is the complete system with all hardware necessary for installation under the sink. An in-line undercounter pressure filter utilizing Doulton ceramic technology to provide filtered water. At the heart of every Doulton and British Berkefeld ceramic filter is the Sterasyl silver impregnated ceramic microfilter. The incorporation of silver locked within the ceramic structure inhibits the growth of bacteria giving the ceramics self-sterilizing properties and removes the need for boiling of the filter to remove or kill the impurities within the ceramic pores. The Doulton range of ceramic filter elements starts with the Sterasyl and with added core medias can become a three stage filter in one eliminating the need for expensive 4 and 5 stage systems. Doulton ceramics do not remove the beneficial minerals from the water ensuring the filtered water is enjoyable to drink and yet safe from harmful impurities. Doulton ceramic filters are manufactured to a diameter of 2 inchs/50mm with a 1/4 inch BSP threaded mount. They have the highly consistent and controlled pore structure necessary to remove a wide range of water borne contaminants over the life of the filter. All genuine Doulton ceramic filters are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance procedures which ensures highly consistant product quality with full batch traceability in operation. Can be easily added on to water cooler or fridge. Sterasyl Cartridge: NSF turbidity reduction standard .53 >98%. Water Regulations Advisory Scheme approved. NSF approved version available. The ceramic shell can easily be cleaned to restore reduced flow due to blockage. All systems are rated to give at least six months use based on the usage of a typical family.
