British Berkefeld High Density Polyethylene Gravity Filter System: All the features of the Sterasyl - 0.9 Micron absolute; >98% Efficiency at 0.2 micron; >90% Efficiency at 0.05 micron; 100% removal of cryptosporidium; 100% removal of cysts - plus Chlorine reduction (>95% gravity/>50% pressure); Organics reduction (>95% gravity/>50% pressure); Designed for gravity filter use. All ceramic elements are based upon the Sterasyl outer shell with various types of core materials for different applications. Cleanable for prolonged life. Made from food grade polypropylene the LP3 is highly durable making it the preferred choice for portability of campers and hikers. Comes complete with 3 SuperSterasyl 7 inch filter candles which can provide up to 21 gallons of filtered water per day. Water passes through the filter candles from outside to in leaving contaminants on the surface. Clean water passes out through the candle mount. Filters out: Pathogenic Bacteria (cholera typhoid salmonella E-coli etc.) Giardia Cryptosporidium and other parasites. All types of particle contamination. Made from food grade polypropylene for strength and resilience. At the heart of every Doulton and British Berkefeld ceramic filter is the Sterasyl silver impregnated ceramic microfilter. The incorporation of silver locked within the ceramic structure inhibits the growth of bacteria giving the ceramics self-sterilizing properties and removes the need for boiling of the filter to remove or kill the impurities within the ceramic pores. The Doulton range of ceramic filter elements starts with the Sterasyl and with added core medias can become a three stage filter in one eliminating the need for expensive 4 and 5 stage systems. Doulton ceramics do not remove the beneficial minerals from the water ensuring the filtered water is enjoyable to drink and yet safe from harmful impurities. Doulton ceramic filters are manufactured to a diameter of 2 inchs/50mm with a 1/4 inch BSP threaded mount. They have the highly consistent and controlled pore structure necessary to remove a wide range of water borne contaminants over the life of the filter. All genuine Doulton ceramic filters are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance procedures which ensures highly consistant product quality with full batch traceability in operation.
