Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Why should I send in a water sample in addition to testing the water myself?
A. By sending us a sample of your water we can do additional tests that are more difficult to do yourself without having to purchase expensive testing equipment. Our testing will make it easier to select the best water treatment system for treating your well water.
Q. Do I really need to test my water?
A. If you are experiencing rust stains, red stains, brown stains, blue stains, or have hard water you need to test for these items at a minimum. This type of testing is meant for those seeking aesthetic improvement of their water such as eliminating stains and odors and/or correcting problems with acidic or corrosive well water.
Q. I live near a gas station (or industrial site, or agricultural area) and I am worried about chemicals such as MTBE, pesticides, or herbicides. Is there an option I can add that will let me test for those?
A. There is no comprehensive home test kit you can use yourself for these contaminants. However, we have an arrangement with one of the top laboratories in the country to do this service at a low cost for this type of service.Click here for more information on the Ultimate Well Water Test Kit. Its not for everyone, but if you suspect chemicals, heavy metals or bacteria it is a low cost option.
Q. How will I receive the results of the analysis on my water?
A. We will email you the results with any recommendations as soon as we complete the testing.
Q. Do I have to pay postage to return the sample to your lab?
A. Yes. In the continental U.S. you only need to put $1.64 in postage stamps on the mailer tube to be able to mail your water sample back to us.
Q. How quickly will I receive my test results?
A. You will usually receive your kit in the mail within several days. You can expect your test results back from us typically within one week.
