Pro-OX 7500-Rev4 Advanced Iron Filter Systems Remove Iron and Manganese from Well Water

  • Pro-OX 7500-Rev4 iron filters are a powerful system for removing iron, rust and sediment from well water.
  • Uses the advanced high purity Pro-OX iron filter media which lasts many years longer than traditional greensand or other iron filter media.
  • Contains a unique blend of high-purity manganese dioxide (Pro-OX) and naturally mined Zeolite for filtration down to 3 microns for maximum filtration and iron removal.
  • Removes up to 5 PPM iron and 0.5 PPM manganese.
  • Iron levels over 5 PPM or other conditions such low pH, high levels of manganese, sulfur odor, iron bacteria or tannins, additional treatment such as chlorine, peroxide, or aeration may be needed.
  • For best removal rates chlorine injection, peroxide, or air injection may be required before iron filter.
  • Iron bacteria, hydrogen sulfide and tannins can also be removed with pre-chlorination or peroxide injection
  • High-tech Ceramic Disc Valve: the moving parts of the 7500 series control valve feature super hard ceramic and graphite meshing surfaces for exacting tolerances, eliminating the need for O-rings or gaskets.
  • Easily programmable, multiple sequence set-up features, regeneration modes and interlocking capabilities.
  • Backwashes based on time (days of the week).
  • More efficient backwashes that use less water and require backwashing less frequently
  • Ceramic disc backwash control valve lasts years longer than standard piston type control valves and backwash over 150,000 cycles.
  • Corrosion Proof: Resistant to sand, caustics, and acids.
  • Automatic program recall after power outage and maximum day regeneration functions
  • Resists Abrasion: Patented ceramic discs are corrosion and abrasion resistant for superior durability and longevity.
  • Exceptional High Flow Rate with noticeable noise reduction during regeneration.
  • NSF certified, one piece, seamless poly filter tank for long life
  • Voltage 110v-230V Power Adapter. Control valve 12VDC. Uses less than 20 watts of power.

  • Pro-OX NSF certified iron filter media
  • Heavy-Duty 7500-Rev4 NSF ceramic disc control valve
  • NSF certified filter tank
  • Bypass valve with 1" pipe connectors

Advanced Features

  • Ceramic disk control valve requires no maintenance unlike traditional piston and seal type Clack or Fleck valves
  • Backwashes based on gallons used and/or days of the week
  • Can be easily set up to be an air-charger control valve for increased oxidation with optional air injector kit!
  • Optional chlorine or peroxide side tank keeps media free of bacteria slime if iron bacteria are present
  • 4 languages on the display if needed besides default English setting
  • Easy to use full port bypass valve won't cut back on flow and pressure
  • Keeps track of time and settings even in a power failure with built-in battery included

Guaranteed to Work or Money Back

  • Try it, and if you are not 100% satisfied, return for your money back, less shipping costs.
  • 10 year Warranty on the filter tanks. All tanks are NSF Certified & top quality.
  • 5 Year Warranty on the control valve.

Why would I need the optional Rusco spindown prefilter?

The spindown filter will remove any sand or grit that may be in your well water and protect the iron filter. Even thought it is not affected by sand like other piston and seal type control valves, it is good to keep sand out of your Pro-OX iron filter.

Another advantage is that it can be used to sanitize your Pro-OX iron filter with chlorine bleach.  By adding a cup of bleach once a year to the spindown filter, and turning the water back on, the Pro-OX media can be cleaned and sanitized.  This is particularly useful if your water has iron bacteria which can slime over the media.  It only takes a few minutes and no chlorine gets in the house, as the filter is then put into backwash after sanitizing.

Why would I need the optional air charger kit?

If your water  has sulfur odors or manganese, this is a good option to use.

Can I add it later?

Yes absolutely. It easy to do, takes just minutes to install kit with no special tools and reprogram your 7500-Rev4 to work as an air charger.

Can I install this system myself or do I need a plumber?

Most of our customers do install themselves, however it is easy for any plumber or handyman to install. Ordering the optional flex lines makes it very easy to hook up to your piping.

What maintenance is required?

If you use the optional air charger kit, the air injector will need to be cleaned once or twice a year.  This takes about 10 minutes and requires no special tools.

What if I don't use the air charger option, what maintenance is required?

There is little or no maintenance required.  If your water has iron bacteria you can add some chlorine bleach in the optional spindown filter and turn the water back on and clean the Pro-OX media with chlorine, once or twice a year. This will remove any iron bacteria film and restore the Pro-OX media.  Many customers however go years with no maintenance.   Eventually after 6 to 10 years the Pro-OX filter media can be dumped out and replaced, however we have many customers using it for over 12 years so far and it still works fine.

Will this affect my water pressure?

Not noticeabley.  The pressure drop at maximum flow rate is around 10 PSI.  At regular flow rates such as used in the home, the pressure drop is less than 5 PSI, often 1 or 2 PSI and is not noticeable.

I have questions, can I get help when ordering or when installing it?

Yes we welcome your questions!  We have a team of experienced water treatment specialists with many years of experience standing by Monday - Friday. We also accept appointments so we make sure to have a tech call you at the time you choose.  Please call us or email us at [email protected]

Sizing Guide

Model Number of Bathrooms in Home Flow Rate Backwash Flow Rate Dimensions
0.5 CF 1 6 GPM 4.0 GPM Diameter: 6"  Height: 42.5"
0.75 CF 1 - 2 8 GPM 5 GPM Diameter: 8" Height: 52.5"
1.0 CF2 - 3 10 GPM 7 GPM Diameter: 9" Height: 56.5"
1.5 CF3 - 4 12 GPM 10 GPM Diameter: 10" Height: 62.5"

Flow Rate: Refers to maximum recommended Gallons Per Minute ("GPM") which means how fast the water is flowing. The 1.0 CF model works best for most homes (such as 2 -3 bathroom homes with 2 - 6 persons).  Higher flow rates are possible through these systems, this is just meant as a guide or suggested use.

"CF" refers to the amount of filter media blend in cubic feet. A 1.5 CF has 1.5 cubic feet of Pro-OX iron filter media (Pro-OX, Zeolite and filter gravel).

Removal Rate: Easily removes up to 5 PPM iron, .2 PPM manganese, much higher removal rates possible with pre-chlorination or pre-aeration or by setting the Rev4 control valve to be an air-charger type valve.  This can easily be done by changing the settings, see manual for more information.

Iron levels over 5 PPM, or when manganese or other conditions such low pH, high levels of sulfur odor or iron bacteria or tannins, please note that additional treatment such as chlorine, peroxide, or aeration may be needed.

Manganese removal: when manganese is present over 0.2 PPM, we recommend a chlorine feed. A chlorine feed with a contact/retention tank allowing 30 seconds of time after the chlorine has been injected, followed by the Pro-OX filter systems does a GREAT job on removing manganese. A carbon filter can be used after the Pro-OX system to remove any residual chlorine, so you get all the benefits of chlorination without having any chlorine in the house water.

  • Try it, and if you are not 100% satisfied, return for your money back, less shipping costs.
  • 10 year Warranty on the filter tanks. All tanks are NSF Certified & top quality.
  • 5 Year Warranty on the control valve.
