Pre-Measured Support Gravel for a 1.5 Cu. Ft. Filter System

Washed and graded silica support gravel for water filtration systems. This 16-lb package contains genuine SRI Supreme 1/4" x 1/8" silica filter gravel manufactured by Silica Resources, Inc. (SRI). Clean Water Store repackages this gravel directly from the same 50-lb SRI Supreme bags used for our full-bag filter gravel.

The 16-lb quantity is the amount we normally use as support gravel in a 1.5 cubic foot water filtration system. The gravel is placed at the bottom of the mineral tank beneath the primary filter media. It helps support the media bed and promotes proper water distribution and backwashing.

NSF Certified Filtration Media

SRI Supreme filtration media is certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 61 – Drinking Water System Components – Health Effects. The official NSF listing identifies SRI Supreme filtration media as silicon dioxide (SiO2) material and includes SRI filtration media sizes from 60 mesh through 1.5 inches.

Meets AWWA Standards

SRI manufactures its filtration gravel to meet applicable American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards for granular filter materials used in water treatment. These standards establish requirements for granular filtration materials, including support gravel used in water treatment filters.

Natural Gravel – Color and Appearance Will Vary

This is a naturally occurring mineral product, so color and appearance will vary. The gravel may contain white, tan, brown, gray, black and other naturally occurring colors. The exact color, shade and appearance can vary from one production lot or bag to another.

These natural variations are normal and do not indicate that the gravel is a different product or grade. Product photographs are representative only. Particle size, grading and filtration specifications, rather than color, determine the grade of the filter gravel.

This 16-lb package is normally used for a 1.5 cu. ft. filter system. It provides a convenient pre-measured quantity so you do not have to purchase and measure gravel from a full 50-lb bag.

Always follow the gravel quantity specified for your particular filter tank and filtration system, as requirements can vary depending on tank size and system design.

Important: Because SRI Supreme filter gravel is a natural mineral product, the gravel you receive may be lighter, darker or more multicolored than the gravel shown in the product photographs. This natural variation does not affect its intended function as filtration support gravel.
