    Description

    Description

    • PVC Injection Check Valve for J-PRO-22 and/or J-PRO-6 Metering Pump
    • 1/2" Male NPT Threads
    • 3/8" OD Tubing

Install into a 1/2" female fitting on a tee as shown. PVC tee sold separately.  Trim end of injection check valve with knife or saw so it extends into water stream if possible.  Sometimes, you have to trim it to keep it from hitting the far wall of the pipe.

If your water has heavy iron and sediment, the injector will clog/ stick/ fail more often.  Keeping a clean spare on hand to swap out will decrease pump downtime.

    TIPS:

    • Always use clean, soft water in the solution tank.
    • Run the pump for ten minutes at 100% with just the clean water, before making up the next batch.  Especially for soda ash and chlorine granules.
    Basic Troubleshooting:

Start or put the pump on Manual (for a Pulse model) at 100%.  Open the degas valve 3/4 - 1 turn.  Most often, the solution will be drawn up and return to the tank.  When it does, close the de-gas valve.  Now, the discharge tubing should be twitching and jerking, ka-thunk, ka-thunk, ka-thunk.

If there are any air bubbles at the top of the tubing, they too will scoot back and forth, mimicking the diaphragm in the head.  It is fine and usually unavoidable to have some bubbles.

New or old, an injector can get stuck- when you close the degas valve but the tube doesn't start moving, it still is not primed.  Gently rap on the injector with a tool- look through the blue plastic, can you see the little Valve Seat and the spring (see picture)?  If they are not moving, stuck, it can't inject... This is more of a problem after the unit has been online, injecting into the raw water. If it doesn't move, remove and clean it. If the O-ring on the Valve Seat is worn, or the spring, then the whole injector needs to be replaced.
