Generate Oxygen On Demand for Ozone Systems and Glass Blowing
The LFY-I-4J Industrial PSA Oxygen Concentrator produces a continuous stream of concentrated oxygen from ordinary room air. It delivers up to 8 SCFH, approximately 3.8 liters per minute, of approximately 93% oxygen at a delivery pressure of approximately 10 to 12 PSI.
This self-contained industrial oxygen concentrator is designed for compatible ozone generators, water-treatment ozone systems, glass blowing, lampworking and other non-medical applications that require a dependable source of low-pressure concentrated oxygen.
Instead of relying on refillable oxygen cylinders, the unit uses proven Pressure Swing Adsorption, or PSA, technology to separate oxygen from nitrogen in the surrounding air. The result is convenient on-demand oxygen production from a compact 110V machine with an internal compressor, adjustable flow control and built-in flow meter.

Ideal for Ozone Generators
This PSA oxygen concentrator is an excellent feed-gas source for compatible corona-discharge ozone generators. Supplying concentrated oxygen rather than ordinary ambient air can help compatible ozone equipment produce a higher ozone concentration while reducing the amount of nitrogen entering the ozone cell.
It is especially useful in water-treatment ozone systems where steady oxygen flow and consistent feed-gas conditions are important. The built-in flow meter allows the operator to monitor and adjust oxygen output for the requirements of the connected ozone generator.
Compatibility is important: Before ordering, confirm that your ozone generator is designed to accept approximately 93% oxygen at up to 8 SCFH and approximately 10 to 12 PSI. Actual ozone output depends on the ozone generator, oxygen flow rate, feed-gas pressure, temperature, humidity and overall system design.
Oxygen Concentrator for Glass Blowing and Lampworking
The LFY-I-4J can also supply oxygen to compatible lower-flow glass-blowing and lampworking torches. It gives glass artists a convenient alternative to handling and replacing oxygen cylinders when the torch can operate within this concentrator's oxygen flow and pressure ratings.
Torch requirements vary considerably. This smaller model may work well with compatible lower-flow glass-working torches, while larger burners may require the 15 SCFH model, multiple concentrators, greater pressure or bottled oxygen. Compare the torch manufacturer's required oxygen flow and minimum pressure with the specifications below before purchasing.
Common Applications
- Ozone generators: Concentrated oxygen feed gas for compatible corona-discharge ozone equipment.
- Water-treatment ozone systems: Oxygen supply for compatible ozone oxidation, sanitation and treatment systems.
- Glass blowing: Low-pressure oxygen source for properly sized glass-working torches.
- Lampworking: On-demand oxygen for compatible torches used by glass artists.
- Jewelry and light metalwork: May be suitable for appropriately sized oxygen-fuel torch equipment.
- Other non-medical industrial uses: Suitable where approximately 93% oxygen, up to 8 SCFH and approximately 10 to 12 PSI meet the equipment requirements.
How PSA Oxygen Generation Works
PSA stands for Pressure Swing Adsorption. The concentrator draws in surrounding air and sends it through molecular-sieve material that preferentially adsorbs nitrogen. Oxygen passes through the system and is delivered from the oxygen outlet.
The internal sieve beds alternate between pressurization and regeneration. Nitrogen is released back into the surrounding air while concentrated oxygen is supplied to the connected equipment. This physical separation process produces oxygen without chemical additives, oxygen cylinders or liquid oxygen.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a PSA oxygen concentrator?
A PSA oxygen concentrator separates oxygen from nitrogen in ordinary air using Pressure Swing Adsorption technology. The internal compressor and molecular-sieve beds create a continuous stream of concentrated oxygen without requiring an oxygen cylinder.
How much oxygen does this model produce?
The rated maximum output is up to 8 SCFH, which is approximately 3.8 liters per minute. Actual output can vary with operating conditions, outlet restriction, elevation, maintenance and flow setting.
What oxygen purity does it produce?
It produces approximately 93% oxygen under rated operating conditions. Purity can vary somewhat with the selected flow, temperature, humidity, elevation and condition of the unit.
Can this oxygen concentrator be used with an ozone generator?
Yes, it can serve as an oxygen feed source for a compatible ozone generator. Confirm that the ozone generator is designed to accept approximately 93% oxygen at the concentrator's available flow and pressure.
Why use concentrated oxygen with an ozone generator?
Many compatible corona-discharge ozone generators can produce a higher ozone concentration when supplied with concentrated oxygen rather than ordinary ambient air. Concentrated oxygen also reduces the amount of nitrogen entering the ozone cell.
Can it be used for glass blowing or lampworking?
Yes, it may be used with compatible glass-blowing and lampworking torches. Compare the torch manufacturer's required oxygen flow and minimum pressure with this unit's ratings before ordering.
Will it operate every glass-working torch?
No. This is the smaller 8 SCFH model. Larger torches and high-output burners may require the 15 SCFH model, multiple concentrators, greater pressure or bottled oxygen.
Does it include its own compressor?
Yes. This is a self-contained oxygen concentrator with an internal compressor. It does not normally require a separate air compressor.
Can it replace bottled oxygen?
It may replace bottled oxygen in applications that can operate with approximately 93% oxygen at up to 8 SCFH and approximately 10 to 12 PSI. It is a low-pressure oxygen source and is not equivalent to a high-pressure oxygen cylinder.
Can the oxygen flow be adjusted?
Yes. The unit includes a manual flow-control valve and a visible flow meter. Adjust the output to match the requirements of the connected equipment without exceeding the concentrator's rated capacity.
What maintenance is required?
Routine maintenance primarily consists of keeping the air inlet clean and inspecting, cleaning or replacing the external intake filter as needed. Maintenance frequency depends on operating hours and the amount of dust in the installation area.
Can it be installed outdoors?
The unit is intended for a protected indoor location. Do not expose it to rain, direct water, condensation, freezing temperatures, direct sunlight or other weather conditions.
Can this unit be used for breathing or medical oxygen?
No. This product is sold strictly as an industrial oxygen concentrator. It is not a medical device and must not be used for breathing, oxygen therapy, veterinary treatment, respiratory care or life support.
Confirm Compatibility Before Ordering
Verify the oxygen-flow, purity, pressure, electrical, tubing and fitting requirements of your ozone generator, glass-working torch or other equipment before purchasing. This unit supplies low-pressure concentrated oxygen and is not a replacement for high-pressure bottled oxygen where greater pressure or flow is required.
