• No potassium permanganate required: Pro-OX Lite operates catalytically with adequate dissolved oxygen or a suitable oxidant. Chlorine may be used when additional oxidation or media regeneration is needed.

Backwash and System Sizing

• Pro-OX Lite requires approximately 12–18 GPM per square foot of tank area during backwash, targeting 20–30% media bed expansion.
• A 24" diameter tank requires approximately 38–57 GPM across this backwash range. A 44 GPM supply provides approximately 14 GPM per square foot; suitability must be confirmed for the actual water temperature and bed expansion.
• The water supply must maintain the required backwash flow through the complete system, including the valve, media, distributors and drain piping.
• Provide adequate freeboard for media expansion. Backwash capacity is separate from the recommended service flow for contaminant removal.
