Pro-OX Lite 7500 Advanced Iron Filter Systems
Remove Iron and Manganese from Well Water
- Pro-OX 7500 Lite iron filters are a robust system for removing iron, manganese, rust, and sediment from well water
- Corrosion-proof ceramic disc auto backwash valve lasts years longer than standard piston-type control valves and can backwash over 150,000 cycles
- It uses advanced Pro-OX Lite iron filter media that lasts many years longer than traditional greensand or other iron filter media.
- Easily removes up to 5 PPM iron and 0.5 PPM manganese
- For some water chemistry or higher removal levels we recommend ozone, chlorine or peroxide injection ahead of iron filter
- Backwashes are based on the time (days of the week) or gallons used. More efficient backwashes that use less water
- Automatic program recall after power outages and maximum day regeneration functions
- Exceptional High Flow Rate with noticeable noise reduction during regeneration.
- NSF-certified, one-piece, seamless poly filter tank for long life
- Pro-OX Lite media is manufactured in Texas to highest quality standards, not imported
- Voltage 110v-230V Power Adapter. Control valve 12VDC. Uses less than 20 watts of power
Frequently Asked Questions
The spindown filter will remove any sand or grit that may be in your well water and protect the iron filter. Even though it is not affected by sand like other piston and seal type control valves, it is good to keep sand out of your Pro-OX Lite iron filter.
Another advantage is that it can be used to sanitize your Pro-OX Lite iron filter with chlorine bleach if you have iron bacteria. By adding a cup of bleach once a year to the spindown filter, and turning the water back on, the Pro-OX Lite media can be cleaned and sanitized. It only takes a few minutes and no chlorine gets in the house, as the filter is then put into backwash after sanitizing.
The tank needs to be 44” in height minimum to use the air charger kit. So yes if the tank you choose is larger then that.
Most of our customers do install themselves, however it is easy for any plumber or handyman to install. Ordering the optional flex lines makes it very easy to hook up to your piping.
If you use the optional air charger kit, the air injector will need to be cleaned once or twice a year. This takes about 10 minutes and requires no special tools. There is no other maintenance required.
There is little or no maintenance required. If your water has iron bacteria you can add some chlorine bleach in the optional spindown filter and turn the water back on and clean the Pro-OX Lite media with chlorine, once or twice a year. This will remove any iron bacteria film and restore the Pro-OX Lite media. Many customers however go years with no maintenance. Eventually after 6 to 10 years the Pro-OX Lite filter media can be dumped out and replaced, however we have many customers using it for over 12 years so far and it still works fine.
No. The pressure drop at maximum flow rate is around 10 PSI. At regular flow rates such as used in the home, the pressure drop is 1 or 2 PSI and is not noticeable.
Your well produces a maximum amount of gpm. Many wells are less than 10 gpm, and you size the filter to match your available flow rate.
If you have a submersible pump with a pressure tank and switch, use this link to find your available flow rate.

Sizing Guide
| System Size | Recommended Bathrooms | Service Flow Rate | Minimum Required Backwash Flow | Tank Dimensions | Pipe Size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0 Cubic Foot | 1.5 – 2 Bathrooms | Up to 8 GPM | 5 GPM | 9" × 48" tank (56.5" overall height) | 1" NPT |
| 1.5 Cubic Foot | 2 – 3 Bathrooms | Up to 10 GPM | 7 GPM | 10" × 54" tank (62.5" overall height) | 1" NPT |
| 2.0 Cubic Foot | 2.5 – 4 Bathrooms | Up to 12 GPM | 10 GPM | 12" × 52" tank (60.5" overall height) | 1" NPT |
Important Sizing Note: Proper system sizing depends on iron level, well pump capacity, and available backwash flow rate. Homes with high iron, manganese, sulfur odor, iron bacteria, or higher-than-average water usage may require a larger system or pre-oxidation. Your well pump must be capable of supplying the minimum backwash flow shown above for proper media cleaning and long-term performance.
Maximum Working Pressure: 100 PSI | Operating Temperature Range: 34°F – 110°F
