    Optional Add-Ons

    • Chlorine or chloramine taste and smell? Pair your softener with a carbon backwash filter. It removes chlorine for better-tasting water throughout the house and helps protect the softener resin.
    • Big Blue final filter. Most city water homes don't need it — the free spin-down pre-filter already catches sand and grit. The Big Blue installs after the softener and catches fine sediment down to 5 microns, a good choice if your water sometimes looks cloudy or you've found sediment in faucet aerators.

    How a Claim Actually Works

If a covered part fails, we ship you a replacement part. No proration, no service call, and no requirement that a professional installed it. Call us at 888-600-5426 and we'll get the right part on its way.

We do ask that the failed part come back to us so we can return it to the factory — it's how we learn what's actually failing. We include a return label, and it needs to reach us within 30 days.

    1-Year Satisfaction Guarantee

This softener carries an extended 1-year satisfaction guarantee (our standard is 6 months). Live with it for a full year — even after it's installed and used. If you're not happy, call us first at 888-600-5426 — most issues can be fixed over the phone. If we can't make it right, return the complete system within 1 year of purchase for a refund of the purchase price, with no restocking fee. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. See full return policy.

The Fine Print, in Plain English

    • Covers defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner, starting the day we ship your order.
    • The system must be installed and used as directed, on city water.
    • Covers replacement parts, not labor.
    • Normal wear items (O-rings, gaskets, seals) and the resin are not covered.
    • The failed part must be returned to us within 30 days. If it isn't, coverage on the replacement part ends and we invoice for it at full price.
    • For warranty service or a return, call us first at 888-600-5426. We'll get you the right part or an RGA number.

Why Upflow Brining Uses Less Salt

Every softener works the same way in service: water flows down through a bed of resin beads, which trade the hardness minerals in your water for sodium. Eventually the beads fill up with hardness and have to be recharged with salt brine. That's regeneration, and it's where upflow and downflow softeners differ.

In a conventional downflow softener, brine enters at the top and travels down through the resin, the same direction the water normally flows. The brine hits the most exhausted resin first and gets weaker as it goes, so the bottom of the bed, the part that polishes your water last, gets the weakest brine. To make up for it, downflow softeners use more salt.

In an upflow softener, brine enters at the bottom and travels up. It stays concentrated where it matters and pushes hardness up and out instead of down through clean resin. The bottom of the bed stays the most thoroughly recharged, so it polishes your water and keeps hardness from slipping through. The result: the same soft water using less salt and less water per regeneration.

Why we sell it for city water. Upflow brining works by moving brine slowly and gently through the resin, and that requires clean water. Iron and sediment, common in well water, can clog the small brine passage and disturb the resin bed. That's why we sell this softener for municipal (city) water. If you're on a private well, our well water softeners use downflow brining, which handles iron and sediment far better.
