Description
Combine the benefits of a Salt-Free Water Conditioner and a Catalytic Carbon Filter in one convenient package
No salt or brine tank
No brine tank, no salt bags, and no ongoing maintenance. With zero chemicals and zero wastewater, this system is fully compliant in areas that restrict salt-based softeners.
Appliances last 30–50% longer
Scale buildup is the number one cause of premature appliance failure. The salt-free conditioner prevents scale from forming in your water heater, dishwasher, washing machine, and refrigerator.
Protects your pipes from scale
Scale narrows pipes over time, reducing water pressure and increasing energy consumption. This system can extend your plumbing lifespan by 10 to 20 years.
Better tasting & smelling water
Catalytic carbon removes the chemicals responsible for that flat, chemical taste and smell that city water is known for, including chloramines and disinfection byproducts that standard carbon filters and KDF media can’t handle.
Softer skin & hair
Chlorine can irritate skin; it also strips your hair of its natural oils and damages the hair’s protein with every shower.
Keeps beneficial minerals
Unlike a salt softener, the Salt-free conditioner retains the healthy minerals. You get full-scale protection, and nothing harmful goes down the drain or into the environment.
Maintenance
While some companies claim that Template Assisted Crystallization Filter Media (TAC) lasts for a lifetime, this is not true. It is recommended it be replaced every 4 to 6 years.
Easily turn the bottom valve and flush it out for a few moments to clean the pre-filter. No need to turn off water!
These last about a year and are easy to change yourself and replacement cartridges are readily available.
Depending on the level of chlorine in the water, the carbon will need to be changed every 2 to 3 years.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Scale Stopper does not remove hardness from water. It changes the structure of the calcium so no scale forms in your pipes. You will still see white deposits on glass doors and fixtures when the water evaporates. If you have very hard water (over 12 grains per gallon) and you currently have a water softener and want the same soft water effects, we recommend you do not purchase a no-salt conditioner.
It does a fantastic job of keeping your pipes and appliances free of interior scale build-up.
You can use a simple chlorine test kit to determine when chlorine is leaking through the carbon and change it when the media starts to wear out.
There is no water test you can do to tell if the media needs changing. Most customers notice some decrease in effectiveness after 4 or 5 years and then change it at that point.
Most of our customers do install themselves, however it is easy for any plumber or handyman to install. Ordering the optional flex lines makes it very easy to hook up to your piping.
